Award winning artist, Sara Drescher has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas School of Art. She has been working as a full-time, professional artist since 2001 and has exhibited her work in the United States from coast to coast.
Recently, she had a solo exhibition at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, TX, at the CASE Gallery in Ft. Morgan, CO, and a collaborative exhibit with artist Brad King at Kamiposi Gallery in Midland, TX.
Her work has been recognized in juried art shows many times with a Best In Show award at the “Fem Fantastico” exhibit at the Nancy Fyfe Cardozier Gallery in 2010 and at the OAA Spring Art Exhibit at the Ellen Noel Art Museum in 2014. Sara was the Distinguished Artist at the “Celebration of the Arts” 2012 in Midland, the “Library Artist” in residence in 2014, and she was the artist in residence at the Museum of the Southwest Children’s Museum in 2006.
Sara has a passion for helping children in need and has created a series of artwork to raise money for organizations with which she has direct ties. “The Seeds and Light Project” benefits local children in the foster system, survivors of sex trafficking in Southeast Asia, and children in poverty around the world. She hopes to someday be able to make this project an official foundation and partner with other artists who have the same heart.
Sara lives in Texas with her Doberman, Coco. When she is not in her studio painting, she loves searching antique malls and flea markets for vintage designs.
