Hallie Hamilton

Hallie Eubanks Hamilton’s work has evolved from realism early in her career into pure abstraction and back again. Her exploration of color is evident in the dreamy, impressionistic land and seascapes Hamilton produced early on and has continued in the gestural paintings on which she is currently working. Her work clearly borrows from the Abstract Expressionists, even drawing on similar themes like the spiritual and the unconscious, but Hamilton’s unique background brings freshness to the genre. While her emotive paintings may appear effortless, her sophisticated color palettes, adept paint handling, and balanced compositions are evidence of Hamilton’s formal training. Her paintings, often large-scale, are striking in their apparent simplicity and aesthetic beauty. Hamilton primarily works in oil and acrylic.
